4.15 Tampa Bay Meat Goats - QB Tajh Boyd

In the real world: The New York Jets drafted Boyd out of Clemson in Round 6. It seems like a good arrangement--Geno Smith is the starter, Michael Vick is the veteran backup and mentor, and Boyd could be developmental prospect who can back up Smith and even put some heat on him. Impressions pro: Boyd can scramble (20 rushing touchdowns in his last two seasons). Impressions con: Boyd's stats may have been inflated by playing on the same team as DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant; he worked almost entirely out of the shotgun formation and will need to get used to playing under center; and needs to make mechanical adjustments.
In the TUFF world: Tampa Bay's got the Patriots' and Niners' quarterbacks--they picked up Blaine Gabbert right after the Pittsburgh BIG PAPAS cut him. Bottom line, the Meat Goats can wait to see how Boyd develops, assuming they have room for him on the roster when Turk Time rolls around.
