2.07 Green Bay Ground Hogs - TE Jace Amaro

In the real world: Amaro is one of the three best tight ends available this year, and he lands in a very good job situation. The New York Jets, who haven't had a tight end since the days when Dustin Keller was healthy, drafted him in Round 2. Jets fans will be thrilled to know that offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg thinks of Amaro as a "new toy" to be used a lot, in contrast to the Band-Aids that the Jets used at tight end last year (Jeff Cumberland and a washed-up Kellen Winslow II).
In the TUFF world: The Ground Hogs traded TE Vernon Davis to New Orleans earlier in the Draft when they moved up to get RB Bishop Sankey. It looks like they found his replacement right here. Between Amaro and Tyler Eifert (acquired from Carolina last October), the Ground Hogs should have a strong tight end duo for years to come.
