3.03 Tennessee Taz Devils - RB Jerick McKinnon

In the real world: McKinnon played quarterback and cornerback as well as running back at Georgia Southern. He starred in Georgia Southern's upset of Florida last year, and then demonstrated some crazy athleticism at the Combine, where he was among the top performers at his position in just about every drill (especially the bench press, where he did 32 reps--six more than the next-best RB). However, he'll need some work in the passing game (next to no pass-blocking experience and only ten career catches). The Vikings drafted him in Round 3 and presently see him as a "change-of-pace" back. For what it's worth, Adrian Peterson will be due a whopping $15 million next year.
In the TUFF world: I wonder if this was a homer pick, being that Lonnie's from Georgia and Derick played for a Georgia school. Regardless, it's a good pick.  It takes a handcuff away from a division rival (Denver) and if Matt Asiata can produce in the Vikings' offense (remember Week 15 last season?), then maybe McKinnon can.
